What is CSA?

We appreciate you all coming onboard the seasonal veggie train with us.
As always - we couldn't do this without you.
It stands for Community Supported Agriculture.
CSA Members commit to a farm for an entire season and in return they receive a weekly share of the harvest! The upfront payment allows small scale growers to have guaranteed markets and income in the winter months to invest in their farm for the coming season.

Community Supported Agriculture is more than receiving a box of local veggies each week. It represents a movement towards connection between what we eat, the people who grow it and the soil. Not only does the member receive ultra fresh, nutrient dense and traceable produce, it is an opportunity for the community to become acquainted. It is about reframing our definitions of what is truly organic and sustainable - asking ourselves "What really grows here? What can each season give us in the West Kootenays of BC?"
We can all take a step back and put an emphasis on living within the current season - even just a little bit more. Of course 100% seasonality can’t always line up but if we add a layer of curiosity and humility in a society where everything is at our fingers tips 24/7, 365 days a year - I think that intentional awareness can go a long way.
So let's focus on getting to know the folks and the food that surrounds -creating direct relationships. It makes so much sense! The food doesn't have to go very far , and we are building strong food networks and companionship on the land that we call home
